What autosave does

Autosave keeps a draft copy of your note while you write. In Note All, this helps protect normal writing sessions from small accidents such as refreshing a page, closing a tab, or returning to the editor later in the same browser. It is meant to make quick writing less stressful.

Autosave works by saving the current draft to browser storage. The editor can then read that stored draft when you come back. This process is fast because it happens inside the browser instead of sending the note to an account.

What autosave does not do

Autosave does not create a permanent backup by itself. If browser storage is removed, the autosaved draft can be removed too. Autosave also does not sync notes between devices. If you need a note on another computer, download it as a text file or copy it into a service that syncs across your devices.

When to use Save As

Use Save As whenever the note matters. A downloaded file is better for homework, meeting notes, business drafts, reference lists, and anything you would not want to lose. Autosave is useful while you are writing; a downloaded file is useful after the writing matters enough to keep.

Good autosave habits

• Give important notes clear titles.
• Download finished notes as .txt files.
• Back up important files outside Downloads.
• Do not clear browser data before saving copies.
• Check private browsing rules before writing long notes.

If autosave seems missing

Autosave examples

A safe writing workflow

For short temporary notes, write normally and let autosave help in the background. For notes that matter, save a text file after each major update. For very important writing, keep another copy outside the device as well. This workflow gives you the speed of browser writing without depending on one storage location.
